How come runway 31 is longer than runway 13? Aren't they the same runway used in different directions? Mucky Duck 15:44, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Future expansion of the airport

I'd like to start a discussion about the points made in the article about the environment about short haul destinations being reachable by rail. Destinations such as the Scilly Isles are overwater, and although Newquay has a rail terminal, it is impractical to reach some of the destinations offered by the airport, or they take a ridiculously long time. For instance 12 hours from Manchester, in 5 legs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick Wallis (talkcontribs) 13:26, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Departure Board Image

Any objections to removing this? It isn't great quality, it doesn't add much to the article, it's out of date and the image just repeats what's already in the article. RaseaC (talk) 19:50, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 5 September 2018

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Move as proposed to Newquay Airport. With only one oppose based on an argument that contradicts guidance at WP:OFFICIAL, consensus is that the proposed title is the WP:COMMONNAME. (non-admin closure) В²C 19:33, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cornwall Airport NewquayNewquay Airport – Despite "Cornwall" being in the official name for a couple of years (the page was moved by Mark999 in February 2016 with the summary "new name") the WP:COMMONNAME remains just "Newquay Airport" based on Google searches. Examples include: easyJet, Europcar, flybe, BBC News, Metro, Civil Aviation Authority and almost all blogs and similar sources. Thryduulf (talk) 12:53, 5 September 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Galobtter (pingó mió) 16:22, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strongly Oppose - The website is Cornwall Airport Newquay, the logo is Cornwall Airport Newquay, the name of the airport operator is just "Cornwall Airport Ltd" So I think keeping it to its official name is best as it does include Cornwall and Newquay in the name. On google "Cornwall airport" comes up with more results than "Newquay Airport". So moving this would be a backward step, when most things are now pointing to Cornwall rather than Newquay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark999 (talkcontribs)
      • Still Strongly OpposeBy the looks of it both names are equally used, so why not keep it as it is for 3 reasons, 1) it is the official name (It is relevant, because more things in future will use this name), 2) the current name has both Cornwall and Newquay, so it is clear the airport is in Newquay, moving it back would cause more confusion, 3) more places are already using the Cornwall Airport Newquay name as shown in links above.Mark999 (talk) 22:50, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Updating regarding Virgin Orbit's cessation of operations

Virgin Orbit has laid off the vast majority of its staff and appears to be almost certainly destined for bankruptcy. How should the page be updated to reflect the loss of what seemed to be the primary customer for the spaceport? SpaceAlex1 (talk) 20:40, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
