How come runway 31 is longer than runway 13? Aren't they the same runway used in different directions? Mucky Duck 15:44, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Future expansion of the airport
I'd like to start a discussion about the points made in the article about the environment about short haul destinations being reachable by rail. Destinations such as the Scilly Isles are overwater, and although Newquay has a rail terminal, it is impractical to reach some of the destinations offered by the airport, or they take a ridiculously long time. For instance 12 hours from Manchester, in 5 legs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick Wallis (talk • contribs) 13:26, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Departure Board Image
Any objections to removing this? It isn't great quality, it doesn't add much to the article, it's out of date and the image just repeats what's already in the article. RaseaC (talk) 19:50, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Requested move 5 September 2018
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Move as proposed to Newquay Airport. With only one oppose based on an argument that contradicts guidance at WP:OFFICIAL, consensus is that the proposed title is the WP:COMMONNAME. (non-admin closure) В²C ☎ 19:33, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Cornwall Airport Newquay → Newquay Airport – Despite "Cornwall" being in the official name for a couple of years (the page was moved by Mark999 in February 2016 with the summary "new name") the WP:COMMONNAME remains just "Newquay Airport" based on Google searches. Examples include: easyJet, Europcar, flybe, BBC News, Metro, Civil Aviation Authority and almost all blogs and similar sources. Thryduulf (talk) 12:53, 5 September 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Galobtter (pingó mió) 16:22, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
Weak opposePlenty of source use the full name, indicating that COMMONNAME is the "full" one such as A-Z (OS uses Newquay Cornwall Airport but as before that might just be the company), airport review, Newquay website, the official website and visit Cornwall. Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:02, 5 September 2018 (UTC)- Comment It was moved from Newquay Cornwall Airport, not Newquay Airport, however if we're not sure if its "Cornwall Airport Newquay" or "Newquay Cornwall Airport" then using "Newquay Airport" resolves this, I agree the current name is a bit clumsy but if used it sources, it might still be the best, but I'm unsure. Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:09, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Closer inspection The airport is marked as "Newquay Cornwall Airport/Newquay Airport" could this mean that the former is the name of the company and the latter the airport its self, indicating that the short name maybe is the COMMON one. Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:20, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Strongly Oppose - The website is Cornwall Airport Newquay, the logo is Cornwall Airport Newquay, the name of the airport operator is just "Cornwall Airport Ltd" So I think keeping it to its official name is best as it does include Cornwall and Newquay in the name. On google "Cornwall airport" comes up with more results than "Newquay Airport". So moving this would be a backward step, when most things are now pointing to Cornwall rather than Newquay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark999 (talk • contribs)
- What matters is the WP:COMMONNAME not the official name. Of course the website for the airport is going to use the official name of the airport - that's not relevant in the slightest. Thryduulf (talk) 16:10, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Still Strongly OpposeBy the looks of it both names are equally used, so why not keep it as it is for 3 reasons, 1) it is the official name (It is relevant, because more things in future will use this name), 2) the current name has both Cornwall and Newquay, so it is clear the airport is in Newquay, moving it back would cause more confusion, 3) more places are already using the Cornwall Airport Newquay name as shown in links above.Mark999 (talk) 22:50, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- The official name is not irrelevant, its just not the determining factor, essentially meaning, we do not always use the official name, rather than the official name is irrelevant. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:46, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support Per WP:COMMONNAME. The Independent puts it the best "Newquay – or Cornwall Airport Newquay, as it's officially (and confusingly) named" AusLondonder (talk) 18:36, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nominator. A google search for Cornwall Airport Newquay gets 490,000 hits, whereas Newquay Airport gets 2,070.000. Giggojo (talk) 03:20, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

Updating regarding Virgin Orbit's cessation of operations
Virgin Orbit has laid off the vast majority of its staff and appears to be almost certainly destined for bankruptcy. How should the page be updated to reflect the loss of what seemed to be the primary customer for the spaceport? SpaceAlex1 (talk) 20:40, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
