Jirard Khalil (born: January 3, 1988), also known online as The Completionist, is a YouTuber focusing on video games reviews.[3] Jirad’s channel is dedicated to completing games, and throughout his career as a game reviewer on YouTube, he has uploaded reviews of over 340 games.[4]

Khalil also co-hosts another channel, Super Beard Bros. Initially featuring only Jirard and Alex, The show began on November 19th, 2012; later on April 15th, 2013, Jirard’s companion on The Completionist, Greg, joined the two.[5] (until Greg left in 2015)

Early Life

After Khalil got his College degree in Theater and Flim, Khalil worked at a Best Buy. After his manager pushed him to pursue his YouTube dreams full time, Khalil began starting his new YouTube Channel which were originally called "ThatOneVideoGamer" but was changed into The Completionist. Khalil in a interview with CNN stated "And I said to myself, what’s one thing I love doing? Completing games. How do I share that passion with the world and make that passion my identity?"[6]

Career

Khalil's career begins in 2012, however, Jirard Khalil's YouTube channel, The Completionist, had removed its first 120 episodes due to legal threats from Greg Wilmott, Jirard's ex-best friend who appeared in those episodes. However, the Epsiodes are now on Archive.org.[7][8][9] In 2021, Khalil had joined G4's Xplay, which in a interview Jirard said to Syfy "It’s very surreal for me. It’s really a dream come true in terms of this whole full circle, Cinderella-esque story for me and my journey joining the team.”[10][11] Xplay and G4 averaged 1,000 viewers before G4 faced a it's second shutdown in 2023, thus ceasing the production of G4's Xplay.[12][13] In 2022, Khalil debuted his new series, God of Work.[6][14] Jirard was also a writer for one episode of JonTron, a 2009 web series "Continue?"[15] and one episode of Game Theory.

In 2021, as apart of Sonic's 30th Anniversary, the Official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel, featured a new series called Sonic Rings. In the series, Khalil talks his history with the series.[16] In 2022, Adam Cole challenged The Completionist to come on AEW Dynamite.[17][18]

On March 18, 2023, Khalil uploaded a video about buying every single Wii U and 3DS game before it shut down in 2023.[19][20] In the video, Khalil talked about it took 328 days to complete the project, US$9,673 in Wii U games, $13,118 in 3DS games with a grand total of $22,791.[21][22][23] The Video was funded by multiple sponsorships throughout 2022.[24][25][26] In the description of the video, Khalil states that: " It was costly, time-consuming, and absolutely worth it." In the same video, Khalil talked about donating the consoles to a preservation company called The Video Game History Foundation.[27][28][29] However, most of these games in the video Khalil preserved were already preserved on illegal ROM websites.[30][31][32]
