"Welcome to the Chum Bucket" is the first half of the fourteenth episode of the second season and the overall 34th episode of the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. It was written by the storyboard directors, Walt Dohrn, alongside Paul Tibbitt and Mr. Lawrence with Andrew Overtoom as animation director and Carson Kugler, Erik Wiese and William Reiss serving as storyboard artists and was produced in 2002 and aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on January 21 of that year.
Plot
It is closing time at the Krusty Krab, and Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that he's going to play a card game. He's going to play against Plankton. SpongeBob is surprised when he hears this, and asks why he'd play against such an evil person. Mr. Krabs explains that Plankton's the worst card-player ever, and he's been winning every week for the last 15 years. In the morning, he tells SpongeBob that he lost, and he bet SpongeBob's contract. SpongeBob is forced to work for Plankton, and Plankton tells him to make a Krabby Patty. SpongeBob doesn't want to, and Plankton 'bribes' him. Soon, SpongeBob's got everything he wanted. He still refuses to make a Krabby Patty. So he takes out his brain and implants it in a robot. The robot also refuses to make a Krabby Patty, so Plankton restores SpongeBob back to normal and gives him back to Mr. Krabs. (Plankton also declares he cheated during the card game) But, after Spongebob went back to the Krusty Krab, he make a joke about not wanting to make Krabby patties. But then he saw Krabs annoyed, so he quickly changed his attitude.
