To Die For is the second studio album by South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and record producer B.I. It is scheduled to be released on June 1, 2023, by 131.[1]

Background

On February 3, 2023, B.I's record label, 131, announced a change in B.I's album release schedule for more effective message delivery. Instead of releasing Love or Loved Part.2 as originally planned, B.I will first release his second studio album, which expresses his take on "love" to a full completion, in the first half of 2023. The first half of his second studio album, Cosmos, was released in November 2021. In November 2022, B.I released the first part of his global album project, Love or Loved Part.1. The second part of the project, Love or Loved Part.2, will be released in the second half of 2023, and will contain stories about "loved".[2]

At midnight KST on May 1, 2023, 131 released a teaser film, revealing that B.I's second studio album, titled To Die For, will be released on June 1 at 6PM KST. The teaser was dropped just hours after B.I's 2023 Asia Tour [L.O.L: The Hidden Stage] concluded in Macau. The teaser features the album title written in motion on a typewriter and includes the quote "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today", which is attributed to American actor James Dean that has come to symbolize eternal youth.[1]
