AfC notification: Draft:Incels.is has a new comment
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Incels.is. Thanks! S0091 (talk) 23:55, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
I removed the content about the founders because NYT does not support it so it is a Biographies of living people policy violation. Be very, very careful about WP:SYNTH. If the source(s) does not explicitly support the claim, then the claim should not be included. S0091 (talk) 00:45, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- Most sources refer to the website by one alias or the other. So would it make sense to not include them because they mention one said alias? I think those there are definitely the limits to WP:SYNTH. I think that it is acceptable to assume that a thing in one source is the same as in another source when there is an abundance of sources covering them. 128.6.37.171 (talk) 00:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- What you are describing is WP:SYNTH,
Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any source
, so no, that is not allowed. If you have done the same with other content then you need to remove it. I caught it with the founders so I removed all mention of them in the draft but given your approach, I fear there may be more. You need to correct all instances of synthesis. Wikipedia only summarizes what the sources state, no editorializing or drawing conclusions, etc. I also urge you, if you are going to stick around, to create an account as it is more anonymous than editing as an IP. IPs are tied to locations and can be tied to institutions, etc. Not to mention it is much easier to from a communication perspective. S0091 (talk) 01:14, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- What you are describing is WP:SYNTH,
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
