Controversy

On 16 December, a video of BJP MLA Jabbar Singh Sankhala has gone viral on social media, stirring up controversy in Rajasthan politics. In the video, the MLA from the Asind constituency in Bhilwara district is seen campaigning among the public, making statements that have raised concerns. He can be heard threatening to commit suicide if he loses the election while soliciting votes from the people. The video, reportedly filmed during the municipal election campaign, has sparked heated discussions in the state's political landscape, with individuals sharing their opinions and statements alongside the viral video.[4][5]

MLA Jabbar Singh's Intimidating Remark

In the viral video, the MLA is standing among the public, addressing them through a microphone. He says, "If I lose the election, I will consume poison and die. I am contesting from Ward 23 and 24. I have been working selflessly for the people." The video, which has gained significant attention ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly elections, has been widely circulated on social media platforms.

MLA Claims Conspiracy

Following the video's circulation on social media, MLA Sankhala has stated that the public holds a positive image of him, and he enjoys the trust of the people in his constituency. He claims to be a companion to people from all castes and classes, offering support in their joys and sorrows. MLA Sankhala attributes the controversy to a conspiracy by his opponents, asserting that he himself did not initiate the viral video. The video is said to be nearly two and a half years old, created during his interactions with constituents during the municipal elections campaign. He remains confident that regardless of any schemes devised against him, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the next government in the state.
