- Capital punishment in South Korea
- The Ministry of Justice says it will submit a bill to parliament to lift the ban on carrying out death sentences after 30 years, although South Korea has not carried out an execution since 1997. (Yonhap)
- New South Wales Governor Margaret Beazley unconditionally pardons Kathleen Folbigg, releasing her from 20 years of a 25-year sentence for killing all four of her children, after scientific and medical research suggested the deaths were caused by genetic mutations. (The Guardian)
