Influence on Franco

I removed the following sentence from the article:

Taylor was also successful in persuading Spain's military general and dictator Francisco Franco not to join the Axis powers of World War II.

Franco's decision not to enter the war was influenced by many, many factors. If there is evidence that Taylor was one of these factors, then this sentence should be rewritten and given a source.

I scanned some reliable sources and found nothing. Taylor is not even mentioned in Wayne Bowen's Spain During World War II (University of Missouri Press, 2006, [1]). He is mentioned only briefly on pp. 181-82 of Stanley Payne's Franco and Hitler: Spain, Germany, and World War II (Yale University Press, 2008, [2]). — Lawrence King (talk) 23:49, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
