    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    @Michaelmross: Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Francis Lucille, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, MBisanz (talk · contribs).     Yes, please. I did not get a response from MBisanz. Lucille is notable as a contemporary non-duality/advaita teacher.     Used as the infobox image for Mohammad Najibullah. It is a non-free biographical photograph that was speedily deleted under F5 for being unused. It was only unused because a new editor replaced it with a copyrighted Getty Images photo uploaded under a false claim of own work (see File:Dr Najibullah 1991.png). This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Draft space is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines.     Thanks. From what I could gather, the deletion was a close call in the first place, and that the main reason it was deleted was that, though it is cited in well-known newspapers and academic articles (not to mention Wikipedia), Daily Nous itself was not the main subject of these articles. Recently, an article did appear in which the main subject was a discussion at Daily Nous, so I am hoping that it tips the balance in favor of restoring the page. Your help is greatly appreciated!     I have acknowledged the conflict of interest. In authoring the previous version, keeping this conflict in mind, I attempted to provide a rather minimalist and non-evaluative description of Daily Nous, and I do not believe any of its content was flagged as being self-serving.     Would you be willing to add negative content to the article should there be a controversy or negative press regarding the website/blog? If the honest answer is no, then you are too close to the subject to write the article. There's no policy preventing you from creating the draft however, though it is strongly discouraged.     There were no inaccuracies in the article (although it may have needed citations, which can be provided). The article was created by a colleague a long time ago before users really knew how to write a page correctly. Citations from newspaper and/or magazine articles and IMDB can be incorporated. The comments by the editor(s) were somewhat arbitrary and unnecessarily "catty" and "superior"; I guess they consider themselves to be absolute authorities on who may call themselves a producer and absolutely discount a huge part of someone's career simply because the colleague who wrote the page didn't know how to construct it properly at the time. The subject of the page is the nephew of Abe Burrows (uh-oh, I'm name-dropping--one of the complaints by the "editors") and was immersed in the theatre from a very early age. Finally, how does having this page exist in the world cause ANY harm? Except that it DID cause harm to the subject (my husband) who was told by a friend that his wikipedia page had been removed. This is an 80-year-old man who now has some cognition issues and the was absolutely depressed when he found out. Of course he doesn't know how to navigate the world of wikipedia (it's not exactly user-friendly for these kind of issues) so I am trying to help him. Now I can't even see who the editors were because that information has disappeared. I would love to be put in touch with the two people who were responsible for the removal of the page. Thank you for your consideration.
