Leopold Ivanovich Schrenk (1826 - 1894) was a prominent Russian naturalist, botanist, and zoologist who was also an explorer of North Eastern Asia, particularly Primorye and the Amur River.

In 1854 he went to Peru at the behest of Tsar Nicholas I. He returned with 78 watercolours by the artist Pancho Fierro.

In 1859 he was a member of the Russian Entomological Society.

0n 10 November, 1879 he was appointed director of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography in St Petersburg.
