Brian Kelly is an Irish Chess player who attained the title of International Master some time in the 1990s. He won the Irish Chess Championship in 1995, in 1994 he won a Gold Medal at the Chess Olympiad playing on Board 6 for Ireland. [1]. He holds some claim to being the strongest Irish player of all time, holding the record for the highest ever score obtained by an Irish player in the British Championship.

Born into a religious family, he began playing chess at an early age.
