Company

Located in Lebring, Austria,AXIS Flight Training Systems GmbH (www.axis-simulation.com) is one of the world's only five providers of Full Flight Simulators (FFS) for civil aviation. It was founded in 2004 by engineers and pilots with the mission of designing and building the next generation of FFS. AXIS is an SME with 95 employees. The company belongs to AXIS Simulation Holding GmbH (ASH), which holds 100% of the shares. AXIS developed its first full flight simulator, for the Fokker 100, with the support of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in cooperation with the Styrian Economic Development Promotion (SFG). In July 2008 this simulator received the FFS level D certificate by the Austrian Authority AUSTRO CONTROL, per the requirements of JAR-FSTD (A). In addition to the Lebring location, AXIS has offices in Pécs, Hungary and Montreal, Canada too.

Capabilities

AXIS focuses on designing and building top-drawer FAA or EASA CS – FSTD (A) level D simulators, employing new technologies that significantly reduce complexity, improve functionality and reduce maintenance requirements. All AXIS full flight simulators have advanced features such as self-monitoring and automatic self-test programs. All of this and many other unique features result in simulators that AXIS claims are more efficient, more available, and more user-friendly than anything else on the market. AXIS has ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system.

Portfolio

AXIS manufactures full flight simulators (FFS) as well as flight training devices (FTD) for all types and configurations of aircraft, from business jets to turboprop commuters like the ATR 42/72 to passenger jetliners like the Airbus or Boeing.

Awards

  • Fast Forward Award 2012:AXIS Flight Training Systems GmbH was awarded the Fast Forward Award by the Chamber of Commerce of Styria for the most innovative product of 2012. AXIS’ innovative features include trend monitoring and automated self-testing so that predictive maintenance can be done in off hours, to drastically reduce unplanned downtime, while automated simulator startup means that operations can start earlier in the day to maximise training hours. On the fidelity side, another AXIS innovation is its icing function, which is unique on the market.
  • Export Prize 2018:On 7th June 2018, AXIS received the Export Prize 2018 at the 14th Styrian Export Day organised by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce.
