Karuppur, Salem

Template:Infobox Indian urban area Karuppur is a panchayat town in Salem district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.It is located on the National Highway 7 between Salem and Bengalooru. The Periyar University, of which many Salem colleges are affiliated to, is located here.It is a railway station on the Chennai-Shoranur railway line.

Karuppur has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 50%. In Karuppur, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
