Monsters in Godzilla: The Series
These are the monsters and other such creatures found in the Fox Kids cartoon series Godzilla: The Series.
Crustaceous Rex
Crustaceous Rex (or "C-Rex" for short) is a mutated crustacean. It possesses a large carapace, tentacles, and huge, clawed arms which support him, and feeds on tar. Originally, C-Rex hunted the mutated giant squids; however, as that food source dried up, it was drawn to Jamaica and its motorways. C-Rex is believed to have been created around the same time as the original Godzilla.
The tar C-Rex feeds off of is not all digested; some is stored and can be fired at an enemy in self-defense. The C-Rex's attacks were blamed on Godzilla; however, when HEAT arrived in Hawaii, it was Godzilla who battled the creature, eventually collapsing a cliff on it. C-Rex survived and was sent to London, England, by the Tachyons. It survived and is currently being held at Site Omega along with the King Cobra and the Giant Bat.
C-Rex was temporarily released when S.C.A.L.E. unleashed it and three other monsters, the King Cobra, the Giant Bat, and a new arrival known as Skeetera. C-Rex had a brief fight with King Cobra, but before it could continue, Monique reactivated the forcefields and contained the two monsters again.
Mutant Giant Squids
These are giant squid of indeterminate origin, although it is believed they may have the same origin as Crustaceous Rex and the first Godzilla. Considerably larger and more fearsome than even a colossal squid, they have more hooks on their tentacles and a row of spines along where the cuttlebone lies.
After being hunted nearly to extinction by C-Rex, the squid moved to shallower water and began attacking boats. The remaining squid were either eaten by C-Rex or burned to a crisp by Godzilla.
P.E.M.C.
The P.E.M.C. (Petroleum-Eating Microbe Colony) was an artificial microbe designed to dissolve petroleum and other non-biodegradable forms of waste. A malfunction during a public test caused the microbes to begin devouring everything, and the P.E.M.C. began displaying intelligent behavior. Soon, the creature was enormous.
Godzilla appeared, partly out of protective instinct and partly territorial, and tried to fight the creature, which wrapped itself around him and tried to smother him. Godzilla freed himself using his flame breath; however, the P.E.M.C. headed for a petroleum plant. Godzilla followed and attempted to block its attempts, alternating between flame attacks and slashing with his dorsal spines.
HEAT devised a way to remove the control mechanisms in the microbes, and Nick managed to deliver a computer virus into the P.E.M.C. The P.E.M.C. hardened and died, the towering corpse sliced in half by Godzilla's tail. P.E.M.C. is a tribute to Hedorah.
El Gusano Gigante
A worm/caterpillar hybrid of some sort that fed off of a rare poisonous plant; as a result, it mutated and grew to an enormous size. It was given the name "El Gusano Gigante" (literally, "the giant worm" in Spanish).
When Godzilla arrived, they fought to what appeared to be a standstill. Shortly afterwards, the Mexican military attempted to poison El Gusano with a purified extract derived from the plant that caused it to mutate in the first place. However, exposure to the purified form of the extract caused El Gusano to mutate further and seemed to give it the ability to exhale limited amounts of the toxin itself. In the process, Godzilla was poisoned by the toxin and El Gusano escaped. After being given an antidote synthesized by HEAT, Godzilla resumed the battle and defeated the creature with its breath attack, but didn't kill it. Instead, El Gusano just shrunk to a smaller size and escaped.
The creature survived, grew back to its original size, and reappeared during the Monster Wars, where it led the attack on Moscow and was later killed by the alien invasion force.
Cyber Fly (Cybernetic Attack Drones)
Robots created by Cameron Winter to implant his control device on Godzilla. Due to this fact, they were woefully weak and easily smashed to bits by Godzilla. They did, however, have a powerful tranquiliser capable of knocking out Godzilla and the power to fire electric shocks, though these were only powerful enough to knock out a human.
Giant Sewer Rats
These rats appeared in New York not long after Godzilla. Their origins are a mystery; however, it is possible they were mutated by the pollutants in New York. The rats made a nest underground, in an area connected to abandoned subway tracks.
When they arrived, Godzilla began moving inland in an attempt to drive out the intruders. At the same time, three redneck hunters appeared, hoping to bag the mutant lizard. While Godzilla and HEAT chased a rat through the city, the three hunters used missile launchers to attack Godzilla, only managing to blow apart the spire for the Chrysler Building. The rat went underground, snatching several HEAT members and hunters in the process.
HEAT made an attempt to rescue their partners, during which Godzilla tunneled into the rats' lair. While the humans escaped, Godzilla dug into the river, flooding it and killing most of the rats. However, at least one, the largest of the rats dubbed "Huge Rat," survived and was briefly controlled by the Tachyons. It was never seen attacking any city but was presumably killed off-screen by the alien ships or may have been taking out of the remaining "Monster Wars" episodes for unknown reasons.
Cryptocleidus ("Crypto")
Artificially created from Crytoclidus by the Tachyons, they were made larger, given skull-like features, and grew front limbs; they now only bear a passing resemblance to their original forms. How many were created is unknown, but there were at least three. Two were guarding the alien starship Leviathan, and tried to drive off Godzilla; however, he managed to kill them.
The other appeared during "Monster Wars," being brainwashed into attacking Hong Kong and later defending it by snapping the Leviathan out of the sky. It was unconfirmed whether it had been killed in the battle or survived.
They can trace their lineage back to Cryptocliudus
Reptilians
Guard dogs bred from small dinosaurs by the Tachyons millions of years ago, the Reptilians have a basic quadruped body and a long multi-hinged jaw. They were seemingly killed when the Leviathan was flooded by HEAT. Also they were due to make an appearance in "Monster Wars", with one of the creatures attacking Las Vegas. That creature would battle Cyber Godzilla but it would apparently die along with the Giant Bat.
They can trace their lineage back to Spinosaurus.
The Crackler
A creature created when an insomniac, Sidney Walker, underwent a new sleep treatment; a side effect of this treatment was the creation of the Crackler. The Crackler began attacking anywhere Walker resented. Godzilla engaged it at a bus station, but all he did was make it stronger. The Crackler only appeared for brief periods, when Walker's brain waves spiked.
HEAT met it again at a football stadium, while Randy and Elsie tried to wake Walker up, hoping doing so would destroy the Crackler. While HEAT used electric prods to try and slow the Crackler down, Randy managed to disconnect the machine used for the sleep treatment, but all it did was set the Crackler on a rampage.
By getting Walker angry, HEAT managed to weaken the Crackler enough for Godzilla to help destroy it as it began to implode. It was going to have a cameo in the final episode.
Crackler and Walker is a reminiscent to Ichiro and Gabera in Godzilla's Revenge.
Queen Bee
Quetzalcoatl
A legendary dinosaur/bird evolutionary hybrid that lived in a volcano in South America, though it also had a passing resemblance to Archaeopteryx. Its name comes from the belief that its species was the inspiration for the Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent of the Aztecs. It had a heat breath ability and its feathers had evolved the ability to resist heat, effectively rendering Godzilla's flame breath useless. Quetzalcoatl also bears a strong resembalance to the "Fire Bird" from the original Hanna Barbera Godzilla Cartoon, in appearance, origin, behaivour and powers.(Tribute to Rodan!)
Quetzalcoatl had emerged after a volcanic eruption and proceeded to make a nest. It captured Elsie and brought her back to the nest to serve as food for its infants, human-sized creatures bearing a passing resemblance to both dromeasaurs and the infant Godzilla. Godzilla arrived and the two fought, but Godzilla's strongest weapon was worthless in the fight. However, when HEAT tried to save Elsie from Quetzalcoatl's hatchlings, the parent left the fight to protect them.
Godzilla knocked the family of monsters into the caldera they lived in and ensured it was partially collapsed, trapping it and its young in the lava once again. While Quetzalcoatl may have survived, lack of protective feathers/scales ensured the infants' demise.
Quetzalcoatl is one of the only naturally occurring monsters in the series. This does pose a slight problem, as beyond mutation, there is no satisfactory explanation for its fire breath.
Ice Borers
The Ice Borers are giant mole-like creatures approximately 40-60 feet high. They lived in Antarctica, and traveled through the ice using extremely high body temperatures. HEAT arrived to deal with the problem, and Godzilla followed.
Individually, the Ice Borers were of little threat to the reptile; however, a group were able to drag him under the ice. They were seemingly killed when HEAT devised a way of freezing their heat sacks, and with the help of a resurfaced Godzilla, wiped out the colony. There was a baby borer that Randy named "Cuddles." The infant allowed HEAT to discover the Ice Borers' weakness Cuddles was the only member of his race after that he grew up in the North Pole. Cuddles was probably killed by the DRAGMA's.
Nessie
Nessie (aka the legendary Loch Ness Monster) is an evolved mosasaur. Over millions of years, her species became much larger and more intelligent. A Nessie is spotted every 20 years or so, in what is recognized as a breeding cycle. HEAT was called to Loch Ness because of video footage Elsie was interested in following up.
While there, Nessie attacked a Scottish research building. During the attack, Godzilla appeared. While the two creatures struggled, HEAT discovered an infant Nessie being held by the lead researcher, Dr. Hugh Trevor, who made an attempt to make off with the infant. The two monsters, meanwhile, were locked in battle underwater; however, the truly aquatic Nessie gained the upper hand over the amphibious Godzilla.
During the fight, HEAT played the infant's cries, distracting both monsters. Nessie went to save the infant, and Godzilla followed. However, instead of continuing the fight, Godzilla freed the infant. Nessie was last seen giving a farewell cry to Godzilla, who returned in kind.
Robo-Yeti
Also called the Goeihei Robotto (Robot Protector) Great Albino Yeti, the Robo-Yeti is a robot created by Dr. Yukiko Ifukube, a Japanese scientist, as a counter to the mutation epidemic. Because of the fact the constitution classed it as an offensive weapon, the robot was disguised as a mutation.
The Robo-Yeti is an extremely powerful robot, arguably the most powerful to appear in the series. Its weapons range from electric cables to missile launchers. The Robo-Yeti is also lethal in hand-to-hand combat, being capable of executing martial arts moves.
When HEAT came following reports of people disappearing, the Robo-Yeti was used to destroy their equipment, in hopes of making them leave. When the robot came close to crushing Nick and Craven, Godzilla, having earlier been sighted by a small boy in the ocean, body-slammed the robot, sending it flying. The two engaged in battle, the robot gaining the upper hand after performing a judo throw. As Godzilla lay prone, the Robo-Yeti bent in close, only to receive a face-full of flame. Godzilla then set the rest of its upper body on fire. However, all it did was reveal the machine beneath. Godzilla leapt in, and HEAT was captured. The two giants fought each other to a draw, neither gaining any real advantage.
Meanwhile, the King Cobra had arrived. Monique stole the control unit and set the robot on the snake, who severely damaged it. After Godzilla and the serpent had made a break for Tokyo, Craven worked to repair the robot. After its reactivation, it followed the monsters and helped Godzilla, pulling the snake off of him. However, the snake constricted it, removing its head. Fortunately, after the King Cobra was beaten, Craven stayed behind to work on the robot. Most likely, it is still operating in Japan. Some believe that it was permanently destroyed by the DRAGMA's.
King Cobra
A mutant cobra that was found in Japan. How it got there is a mystery; however, it may have swum from Asia. Instead of venom, the King Cobra is able to spit a glue-like substance that it uses to trap prey; the glue puts the prey into some sort of suspended animation and seems to be used to store food. The King Cobra has characteristics of a spitting cobra, allowing it to spit its 'venom' at prey; it also has a powerful constricting body, much like a python, which allowed it to destroy Robo-Yeti twice without employing any other attack.
HEAT came to Japan following reports of people disappearing, and of course, Godzilla followed. While there, Godzilla was mistaken for the creature attacking people and went one-on-one with Robo-Yeti, the two fighting essentially to a draw. While they battled, the King Cobra attacked the humans. After Monique stole its control, Robo-Yeti went after the snake but didn't last long. When Godzilla went for it, he got blinded by the King Cobra's venom. The cobra made a run for it, heading for Tokyo, with the blinded Godzilla using his nose to follow it. While HEAT made efforts to make a solvent for the glue, Craven helped repair Robo-Yeti.
Meanwhile, Tokyo was under attack from the King Cobra, with Godzilla close behind it. HEAT created the solvent and while Randy and Elsie found the snake's lair and freed its victims, Nick and the others took Robo-Yeti and headed for Tokyo. Robo-Yeti again made a move on the giant snake but was beaten worse than before. Nick managed to restore Godzilla's sight, and Godzilla made short work of the King Cobra, tossing it out to sea and his jaws broke the cobra's neck in one Bite and he blew It in half. The King Cobra wasn't finished off, however; it apparently survived and was one of the monsters the aliens controlled. It was sent to attack Paris but after the invasion was thwarted, the King Cobra was captured and is currently held on Site Omega.
When the forces of SCALE attacked and "liberated" the Island, King Cobra was freed and engaged in a free-for-all with C-Rex, Giant Bat and Skeetera. King Cobra trapped Giant Bat with its adhesive venom before being bitten by Skeetera. It was then attacked by C-Rex before Monique reactivated the forcefield and contained the two monsters again.
Mutant Termites
A mutated termite colony in the Amazon that was devouring the rain forest. The first time Godzilla fought them, the Termites swarmed all over him. HEAT later used a radio signal to force the Termites to attack each other before Godzilla returned and destroyed the colony.
Giant African Bat
Some label it as the "Screecher" or "Sonic Bat" due to its ability to emit powerful sonic waves from its mouth that could blow away anything and could become even stronger in water. At close range, the sound can render an opponent unconscious (however, other than that, the giant mutant bat had little physical force aside from its teeth and talons). Many people confuse it with the "Flying Gigan."
The monster appeared in the "Monster Wars" trilogy fighting with Godzilla only to be controlled by the Tachyons who commanded it to retreat. When it broke free of its control, it helped H.E.A.T. (unofficially) and took out many Tachyon fighters with its shriek. Godzilla followed suit and the two encountered Cyber Godzilla, and the Bat was quickly knocked away when Cyber-Godzilla used its chest cannon. The end of the episode shows that the Giant Bat survived and was merely knocked unconscious by Cyber Godzilla.
The Giant Bat reappears in SCALE, where it is confined to Monster Island along with King Cobra and Crustaceous Rex. It was shown to be flying around the Island with laser-like devices keeping it from escaping, which were shot into a hi-tech collar on its neck. The collar also prevented it from using its sonic scream. When SCALE attacked, the collar was shut down and it was able to use its power again. However, it was trapped by King Cobra's venom and bitten by Skeetera. It escaped and ultimately lost a dogfight against Skeetera. It was later confined once again.
While it is supposed to be African, it looks like a giant vampire bat, which are found in South America. It has been mistaken for Flying Gigan; however, Flying Gigan is merely a prototype monster which never made it into the series, but was used in the intro.
Cyber Godzilla
One of the strongest monsters that Earth has seen, Cyber Godzilla was created by a combination of human and alien technology. A cyborg created using the corpse of the original Godzilla, he is completely under the control of the aliens, with or without their tachyon emissions. Cyber Godzilla has been seriously upgraded from his original form, as he now possesses several weapons, such as a sonic emitter, eight missile launchers on his dorsal spines, and blue atomic flames. While a puppet, there does seem to be a tiny bit of the original's mind left, enough for him to try and dominate his own offspring. When Godzilla and the Giant Bat met Cyber Godzilla, he was extremely confused, unable to decide who his parent was; the aliens used this confusion to gain control of him.
Cyber Godzilla was sent to Tokyo during the alien attack, and was the only monster not to turn on them, due to the fact that his mind had been dead for well over a year and whatever had been resurrected was dominated by the programming implanted in his newly cybernetic mind. He was summoned back to Site Omega where he knocked the Giant Bat out. Moments later, Godzilla appeared, and there was a tense moment as the young monster decided where his loyalties lay. He picked Nick.
During an impressive battle, Cyber Godzilla attempted to kill his son; however, Godzilla's intelligence, along with the fact he was more powerful than his father ever was, meant he would win, and the cyborg was torn apart. What happened to the carcass is unknown; however, it can be assumed the military are in possession.
Cyber Godzilla was the second appearance of the original Godzilla, the first being in the opening sequence of the first episode, "New Family." He is generally considered to be an homage to Mechagodzilla, and it is possible that Toho borrowed from him a little for Kiryu, the third Mechagodzilla because Kiryu was constructed from the original Godzilla bones.
Cyber Godzilla's roar was changed to a more metallic sound, which seemed to suit the idea of a zombified mutation, as it was already being used by the current Godzilla. Why and how Cyber Godzilla actually gained atomic flame is unknown, but probably the aliens gave it to him while being reanimated and constructed. Some fans have noted however that in the 1998 film, Godzilla's teeth and tongue lit up in several scenes when he was using what was supposedly 'hurricane breath,' yet certain objects exploded almost immediately after exposure. As this was a cartoon which combined elements of the 1998 Godzilla with the classic Japanese beast, this may be a partial retcon. Of interesting note, Cyber Godzilla's atomic flame was blue in the series much like the Japanese Godzilla, while that of his son is green.
No explanation is given for the radical use of metal in the cyborg's body, however, as much of the cybernetic components seem arbitrarily placed. This includes a cybernetic right arm and a strange metal "helmet" for the cyborg's head. Neither the arm nor head of the creature were damaged in the film, though this may be a retcon of the damage in order to allow for a more visually striking design to Cyber Godzilla. Of course, it may be because of any experiments the military performed on the carcass.
In addition, the color of Cyber Godzilla's skin and dorsal plates was changed for the series. In the film, its skin was blackish grey with blue dorsal plates, much the same as that of its offspring. However, in the series, Cyber Godzilla's skin is brown with gray dorsal plates; this is most likely an indication of decay on the carcass of the original. Cyber Godzilla as the final "boss" is an homage of the Japanese Godzilla's enemies in the two movies, King Ghidorah in Destroy All Monsters and Kaizer Ghidorah in Godzilla: Final Wars (although Final Wars was made after the series).
Cyber Godzilla's death at the hands (and fangs) of Godzilla is easily the single most violent defeat of any mutation ever shown in the series. Though there is no loss of blood, the creature's right arm is blown off and its chest is visibly ripped open by Godzilla during their battle, and is even shown given off something akin to a death rattle as it dies; no other mutation is shown being defeated in so graphic a manner (or at least as Saturday morning cartoons get).
Chameleon
A genetically engineered hybrid monster created by Cameron Winter with a combination of Godzilla's cells and a chameleon's cells. It was sent out to destroy New York where the people mistook it for Godzilla. Later Nick proves that Godzilla is innocent. The two squared off and it proved to be immune to Godzilla's atomic breath. It could also blend in with its surroundings, causing it to turn invisible to even radar. It was finally destroyed by a biological agent called the French Anti-Godzilla Bazooka, which was used by Philippe. This bio-weapon was meant for Godzilla but Philippe changed his mind and fired it at the Chameleon. It turned the monster into stone and then destroyed it. So in a sense that means Godzilla won the battle. Some wonder which is more reliable, a remote controlled Chameleon or an independent thinking Godzilla.
Bacillus
A giant, mutant germ, the Bacillus has a spherical body, a prehensile stringer, and the ability to produce an endospore. Its stinger will automatically infect anything it pierces. The Bacillus is an interesting mutation as it is a multi-cellular organism created from a single-celled organism; however, it is possible that it was a bacillus colony that was mutated.
The Bacillus first appeared near a reservoir, and HEAT was extremely concerned about what would happen if it entered the artificial lake. Godzilla appeared and battled the creature, which was susceptible to heat. However, before its apparent death, the Bacillus slashed Godzilla with its stinger, infecting him with a deadly virus that attacked his brain stem. Nick and Monique attempted to save Godzilla by entering his body and manually exterminating the viral agents.
Meanwhile, the Bacillus returned, having protected itself using an endospore. While Nick and Monique worked inside Godzilla, the mutant bacteria made another run at the reservoir. The two inside Godzilla managed to eliminate the virus; however, they were low on oxygen and headed for Godzilla's nostrils. Godzilla's healing ability kicked in and he rapidly recovered. He headed straight for the mutant, snagging it off the reservoir wall. The two fought, Godzilla now aware of the danger from the stinger. With some help from HEAT, Godzilla finally killed the beast, and sneezed Nick and Monique out.
Bacillus is a tribute to Biollante.
Giant Black Widow Spider and Mutant Spiders
A tribute to Kumonga, the Giant Black Widow Spider was also known as the Leader Spider. The Black Widow Spider initially covered Godzilla in webbing because, due to a device Craven used to try and control him, he was confused during the fight. HEAT used a bomb that was loaded with flowers from the Chrysanthemum family. Godzilla showed up and took care of the adult spider.
Sub-Zero Manta Ray
A mutated manta ray that can fly and breathe ice. It appeared in New York while apparently migrating to a colder climate to hibernate. HEAT and Godzilla intercepted it, and the mutants fought while HEAT came up with a plan to trap the mutant in an ice rink, thereby lulling it into hibernation. Using cold air, they drew it to the ice rink, where Nick waited to stop Godzilla following. The ray then entered hibernation, ready for transport to Site Omega. While being transported, it woke, escaped, and went on a rampage.
HEAT were attending Elsie's sister's wedding when the ray appeared and tried to attack the humans. However, Godzilla returned and the two entered a battle of hot and cold, that altered the weather of the area. Nick and Elsie tried to draw it out to sea, while Godzilla tried to stop it from freezing Nick's boat.
However, it was incapable of freezing the salt water. Once far enough out, Godzilla again tried to fight the ray. However, the ray froze Godzilla's upper body, and Godzilla sank into the ocean. Fortunately, the salt water broke the ice, and Godzilla snatched the ray and dragged it underwater before creating a whirlpool to suck it into the depths. Whether or not it survived is unknown.
Some wonder if it was killed by the DRAGMA's.
Techno-Sentient
Silver Hydra
A cnidarian like creature, which stalks an abandon mining field. It possesses the ability to regnerate and replicate like a real hydra
Mimic
The result of a French experiment gone wrong, the Mimic was a shapeshifting being capable of turning into anything it touched, including humans. When HEAT were trying to track it down, it managed to evade them by mimicking Elsie, but a side effect of its transformations was a higher body temperature than that of humans, allowing them to expose its cover.
HEAT developed a means of destroying the mimic, but matters were briefly complicated when it duplicated Godzilla and began to fight it; hitting the wrong target would kill the real Godzilla. Nick was nevertheless able to tell which Godzilla was which and killed the Mimic.
Lizard Slayers
The Lizard Slayers were "anti-Godzilla" weapons created by Cameron Winter. There are three models: Lizard Slayer 1 is a ground walker, Lizard Slayer 2 is an amphibious attack vessel, and Lizard Slayer 3 is an air assault vehicle. The three hunters (from the episode "Cat and Mouse"), Hank, Dale, and Bill, were broken out of prison to act as pilots; if they killed Godzilla, they would be given a "get out of jail free card." However, their ineptitude combined with Godzilla's natural intelligence meant they were very poor at their job.
After HEAT, Major Hicks, and Godzilla destroyed the Slayers, Winter acted as though the three hunters had stolen the mechs. It was a bittersweet victory for HEAT, as Nick found out that the government had been impressed by the mechs and given Winter orders for models for the military; Winter then calls Nick and further taunts him.
Swamp Beast
The Swamp Beast (aka Jean Du Mare) is a beast of possibly mystical origins. The Swamp Beast can fire mud at an opponent, trapping them. When a developer began working in a bayou swamp, the creature appeared and attacked the workers. When HEAT arrived to investigate, Godzilla attacked the beast, which was apparently under the influence of an old Cajun, but using its ability to fire mud, it trapped Godzilla and escaped.
The Swamp Beast reappeared at a function held by the developer. HEAT was present and as such, Godzilla returned to protect Nick. Du Mare tried to trap Godzilla again; however, Godzilla used his flame breath to dry the mud, allowing himself to break free. The two fought until the Cajun called the beast off. It made a return to the swamp, and Godzilla would have followed if Nick hadn't told him to let it go.
Fire Monster
Fire Monster is a squid/spider-like hybrid, with power to surround itself with flames, forming a sort of larger "body" out of the fire. The heat it gave off meant that missiles and bullets exploded before they could get anywhere close. It could also absorb fire. It attacked an oil rig and menaced HEAT before fighting Godzilla, feeding off his atomic breath until HEAT used oil (its fuel source) to lure it away. The fire Monster burned itself out before Godzilla doused it with water and defeated it.
However, Craven realised the scientific value of the monster and, with Randy's help, smuggled it into HEAT HQ where it reawakened and almost burned the place down fighting Godzilla. Craven eventually atoned for his mistake by causing a huge explosion that used up the oxygen in the vicinity, smothering the creature's flames.
The Fire Monster was left at the bottom of the sea in a vacuum-sealed bubble. At the end of the episode, a Shark damaged the container and apparently released it.
Norzzug the Iron Cat
A sphinx-like monster from Saudi Arabia awaken after many years by archaeologist who were cleaning it with a rust removing agent. It's blood is made of oil, which it uses to breath fire. Godzilla defeated the monster by dragging it into the salty ocean water, which caused it's iron skin to rust and petrify.
Giant Hummingbirds
Mutant Humming birds who attacked San Francisco, California. The grew because of the food supply (flowers) being polluted by chlorofluorocarbons. Since then they have acquired a taste of pollutants for their food supply, they attacked the airplanes engines. They have the ability to create mirages from flapping their wings and saliva that's like battery acid. Godzilla defeated them when HEAT attached a viser on him with impact resistant plexive glass base layered with light filtering tints to counteract varing degrees of image refraction to his eyes he was able to finish them off.
The Hummingbirds are a tribute to the Giant Condor form Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster.
Medusa and "Mutant Mania" Mutations
Medusa, Giant Gila Monster, and Scorpio. Medusa was the main attraction in a travelling Circus, but was driven insane by her environment and attacked New York. She used her ability to drain moisture from living creatures to defeat Godzilla before he rehydrated and destroyed her.
Megapede/Cicada
A giant centipede that was destroying farms in Chicago, Illinois. It journeyed to an amusement park where it fought Godzilla. The megapede seemed to have gained the upper hand for shooting poisonous barbs and a toxic foam which it sprayed on Godzilla's eyes then he retreated into the water. Megapede had a weakness that was electricity because of it being electricuted on a rollercoaster ride. When HEAT tried to search for it all they found was a cacoon. It turned into a hybrid cicada. It went on top of a building flapping it's wings trying to find a mate, but all it did was create interferences in electronic devices, luckly the managed to stop it with insulating foam. Godzilla returned and brought down the building and they engaged in battle. Godzilla and Cicada fought under water and Godzilla won when he drowned it. Megapede/Cicada are a homage to both Mothra and Battra.
Ts-Eh-Go: The First Wave and the Second Wave
A military mutation code-named the First Wave, Ts-Eh-Go had the ability to fire acid from its tail at a target. It proved uncontrollable, escaped, and went wild in the desert. HEAT went after Ts-Eh-Go, following sightings, and soon found out the truth of its creation. Godzilla went up against it, but was badly injured by its stinger.
Meanwhile, HEAT and Major Hicks found that the military had created the Second Wave, a much smaller, white version of Ts-Eh-Go. Elsie discovered that a mud found in the region had the ability to cure Godzilla.
While the monster king had a rematch, the Second Wave escaped. Surprisingly, they attacked Ts-Eh-Go, and both were killed when the research building was burned down. There was also mention on development of a "Third Wave."
Armillaria
A giant fungus who could suck the amino acids from any living organism. The monster is destroyed by Godzilla's atomic breath.
Giant Mutant Vampire Bat
A mutation that was briefly mentioned in the episode "Underground Movement," where HEAT was being sued for damages caused by Godzilla when he fought a mutated vampire bat in Miami, Florida.
Shrewster
An interesting mutation, the Shrewster was created when a lab, experimenting with artificial twisters, had an accident, and a nearby shrew was mutated and given the remarkable ability to exist inside a twister. In fact, it never left it, using the twister to travel and hunt for food. HEAT encountered it when they were sunbathing and the Shrewster appeared, before being chased off by Godzilla. As HEAT tracked its history, the mutant returned, sucking N.I.G.E.L. and Nick inside.
HEAT developed a way to neutralize the twister, thereby allowing Godzilla to close in. However, even without it, the Shrewster was extremely agile, but unfortunately for it, it was trapped in a bandstand and transported to Site Omega. However, the Shrewster seems never to have made it to the island, as it appeared during a fight in the mutation fighting arena, in the final episode of the series.
Skeetera
A mutated mosquito that could temporarily absorb power from other creatures by drinking their blood. Physically, Skeetera was essentially a giant version of a female mosquito. After being defeated by Godzilla, HEAT arranged to take it to Monster Island. However, an extreme animal rights group called S.C.A.L.E. snuck onto the island and freed all the monsters. Skeetera then began to absorb the abilities from the King Cobra and the Giant Bat, gaining the ability to fire adhesive venom (though the venom didn't have the same properties as that of the King Cobra) and emit a loud screech (but couldn't focus it).
Godzilla arrived and helped to herd the mutations back to their holding areas. However, Skeetera attacked him and stole his atomic breath. The combination of all three powers resulted in an ability to spit explosive fluids. Skeetera was finally defeated after being knocked into electric cables.
Godzilla leading the mutations is a similie in Destroy all Monsters.
Dragmas
The Dragmas (acronym for "Democratic Resurgence Against a Global Mechanized Armageddon") were genetically engineered by Dr. Jonathan Insley, a scientist who thought he was saving the world. Dragmas looked like a cross between a Triceratops and a dragon, which leads some to believe that they were created by crossing Triceratops DNA with that of a dragon's, or possibly an unknown mutation. They have three legs, wings, and razor-sharp teeth and claws. Dragmas also possessed completely impenetrable skin, in which nothing could breach it, not even Godzilla's atomic breath. They also had the ability to rapidly reproduce. In an alternate timeline, into which HEAT was drawn, the Dragmas had taken over the planet, decimating humanity and wiping out Earth's mutations, including Godzilla. HEAT was determined to return to their time and stop this from happening. Finally making it to the present, they made a move on the lab where the immature Dragmas, lacking the armored hides, were. HEAT managed to kill them, with the timely help of Godzilla, thus averting the disaster.
Mutant Jellyfish
A Mutation that Godzilla and HEAT fought except for Craven who called in sick. Its powers are swimming and jelly like nuclear acid. During their fight a storm sent HEAT to the future. When they returned Godzilla defeated the Giant Jellyfish by biting and shaking.
Komodothrax
A mutant komodo dragon that Godzilla falls in love with after Nick and Audrey's romantic trip in Alaska is attacked by a giant mutant turtle, and they end up on a deserted island with Komodothrax. Godzilla and Komodothrax defend HEAT from the giant turtle, and HEAT finds a giant egg in Komodothrax's nest. She and her egg fell into a fissure while fighting the giant turtle and died. Godzilla was left to mourn.
Like Godzilla, Komodothrax was powerful and like Godzilla himself, had a atomic flame breath, which is blue in color and is very similar to the one used by the Cyber Godzilla. She was almost as adeptive a fighter as Godzilla, but was smaller and couldn't regenerate or burrow.
Giant Mutant Turtle

Unused Monsters
Prior to the series' release, several sketches surfaced of monster designs. These were given names of Toho monsters for identification purposes, for example the Flying Gigan (a giant bat-like creature) and Manda (a mutant worm). Another was a giant spider named "Gus" and Megalon (a giant insect-like creature). While many of these appeared in preliminary sketches (for example, Godzilla fighting the Flying Gigan underwater), these monsters didn't play a role in the series. However, many were used in the intro sequence, possibly to keep the identification of monsters to appear in the series a mystery, alongside Crustaceous Rex.
