The Vancouver Island Raiders are a Canadian Junior Football team based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The V.I. Raiders play in the seven-team B.C. Football Conference, which itself is part of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and competes annually for the national title known as the Canadian Bowl. After a failed move of the Victoria Rebels to Nanaimo in late 2004 the V.I. Raiders were founded in 2005 - and won the CJFL National Championship in 2006, 2008, and 2009 - winning to date 3 out of their 5 Canadian Bowl games. The V.I. Raiders won consecutive BCFC titles from 2006-2011, and 2013, 2018. Andrew Harris, four time CFL Grey Cup champion, 5th all-time CFL rushing leader, of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts played for the V.I. Raiders from 2006-2009, contributing greatly to the success and culture of the V.I. Raider Family.
