The Burly Bear Network was a cable TV network targeted at 18-24 year old college students. Programming was offered on some university TV stations, including Northern Kentucky University, the University of Dayton and Indiana University East in Richmond, as well as late nights on the Turner Broadcasting System (TBS)[1].
The station was initially a privately held company, under CEO Howard Handler, but in September 2002, the station was bought by National Lampoon for an undisclosed amount[2]. This sale corresponded to the end of programming on TBS.
