does anyone know what he word 'trope' means?

here's a hint: don't learn English vocabulary and world history from Internet listicles. the word that you meant to use is 'cliche'. a trope is any use of language in a non-literal way. the word was misused by the website 'tvtropes' and has suffered more than the words 'ironic' and 'literally' in the hands of the semi-literate Internet-educated ever since. this article is pathetic. 75.100.65.174 (talk) 18:28, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
