Aytaç Şaşmaz is a Turkish actor and musician. He was born on 4 August 1998[1][2] in Manisa, Turkey.
His older brother, İsmail Ege Şaşmaz, is also an actor.[3]
After taking acting lessons, he moved to Istanbul and made his cinematic debut in 2017 with a role in the youth film Kötü Çocuk alongside Tolga Sarıtaş and Afra Saraçoğlu.
He played Feyzullah Altiparmak in the military series Söz (2017-2019) which was nominated for International Emmy Awards.[4][5] He further rose to prominence with his performance in Hekimoğlu (2019-2021), an adaptation of American series House.[6]
In 2020, he played the leading role of young Niko in the movie Ask Tesadüfleri Sever 2.[7] The heartwarming movie is based on a true love story that overcomes obstacles, time, and distance.
In 2021, he scored his first leading role in a TV series as Bora Doğrusöz in the romantic comedy TV series Baht Oyunu.[8][9]
In 2022, Şaşmaz played the role of Evren in Fox’s TV series Darmaduman[10], a Turkish adaptation of the award-winning American television series, Beverly Hills, 90210.
Early in 2023, he played the role of Metin in the theatrical production Eksik.[11] The play sheds light on a tensioned father-son relationship.
He also plays the role of Baha in the highly anticipated new movie Hatıran Yeter [12], which is scheduled to be released by the end of 2023. The movie tells the life story of a boy with hearing and speech disabilities, and the challenges he faces growing up.
Aytaç Şaşmaz has recently joined Netflix’s Anotherself 2 in the role of Diyar, a young man whose life changes after meeting Ada. The series is currently under production.[13]
