Gagaaling was a Japanese visual kei gothic rock band formed in 2004 and ended in 2010.

History

GaGaalinG fromed in 2005 by vocalist MYM (formerly known as MAIMING) after going to a Rolling Stones concert in 2005 she was so overwhelemed by the band that she decided to make a band herself[1]

On February 6, 2008 GaGaalinG released their 4th single "Pierce".[2], later that month GaGaalinG announced new full-length album, Royal Stranger released on March 26th[3] and a tour at the MEGURO ROKUMEIKAN that starts on March 1st and ends on April 13th.[3]

On November 5th GaGaalinG released their mini-album "Alice".[4]

On March 2, 2010 GaGaalinG announed on their Myspace that they would be disbanding on July 17th.[5] They held their last live on July 17th, 2010 and disbanded later that day.[6]

On October 17, 2015 the band did a reunion show at the 30th year anniversary even of Koyanagi "Cherry" Masanori's debut.[7]

Musical Style

Gagaaling described theirselves as gothic loud rock band.[8] Their songs have also been described as heavy rock and pop.[9] Their songs also incorporate elements of Christianity.[citation needed]

Name

The bands name comes from Yuri Gagarin who was the first person to go to space.[10]
