A 1957 film in which a group of British captives in a Japanese POW camp a forced to build a railway bridge. The film was based on a novel by Pierre Boulle. Also in the cast were William Holden and Jack Hawkins.
The film won seven Oscars:

Sessue Hayakawa was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
