Boomerang is a Turkish-language children's television channel broadcasting to Turkey.

History

Originally as Cartoonito (first incarnation)

In 2 March 2012, Cartoon Network Turkey launched a channel that's called Cartoonito, a preschool channel. At first, the channel aired shows like eye doctor information tapes and Larva.

Launch as Boomerang

On 13 November 2015, Turner Broadcasting System Europe announced the launch of Boomerang in Turkey on 13 November, which is a crime action sex channel. However, it had the Playboy TV brand. [1] The HD channel was launched exclusively on the Tivibu and D-Smart operators in Turkey.[2] Later in 2018, Boomerang rebranded with a 2015 logo and became a kids channel.

Transition as Cartoonito

Originally on December 3, 2018, Cartoonito was revived as an afternoon block on Cartoon Network Turkey, airing every day from 12:00 to 3:30 PM local time. However, as part of its global re-introduction, a Cartoonito block also arrived on Boomerang on September 5, 2022.

Boomerang will fully transform into a 24/7 Cartoonito channel on 4 September 2023, along with its Nordic and MENA counterpart.[3]
