Skycop is flight compensation company, based in Vilnius, Lithuania, founded in 2017. Its mission is to make the compensation process for disrupted flights as simple and straightforward for air passengers[2].

About

The company’s main function is to provide passengers with the right information and tools to get the compensation when their flights are cancelled, delayed or overbooked. It is supported by the Regulation (EC) No 261/2004.[3] Skycop assists in helping the passengers avoid any legal or bureaucratic barriers preventing them from getting the compensation they deserve.

Services

Skycop provides a variety of services[4] for passengers who have experienced flight delays, cancellations, or overbooking. These services include analyzing of passenger's flight and carefully selecting the relevant legal provision(s) that the airline might have violated, and then assisting them in the actual pursuing of the compensation[5].

Skycop has achieved remarkable success when it comes to winning cases against airlines in court. One of them is the case with low-cost carrier Ryanair. Skycop sued Ryanair after the airline refused to honor some of its passenger's claims. Skycop was successful in the court and Ryanair had to pay not only the original claims but also legal costs. The court ruled that some of Ryanair's Terms & Conditions were not legal due to their ambiguity[6].

In another case, Skycop engaged in a court battle with low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines. This time, Skycop opted to go for an out-of-court settlement and eventually succeeded in getting Vueling Airlines to agree to their terms[7].

Skycop has also brought lawsuit against AirBaltic for not paying the required compensation to passengers who had experienced flight disruptions. This case was also resolved in favor of Skycop, with AirBaltic agreeing to pay the appropriate compensation[8]
