Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, Tacyarg! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
Regarding Myles Standish, would it be helpful if I show you what's in my tree? I added them only after finding the evidence online. RMSTitanicFan1912 (talk) 17:45, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
I have looked further in my tree and found 8 different sources pointing to my edits as fact. There are also a number of history books that again reveal information including a cause of death, and who his parents are. I unfortunately don't know how the site sources just yet, but they do exist. According also to GENCOM research his parents are John and Christiana. Women in Red
Hi there, Tacyarg, and welcome to Women in Red. I see that in addition to all your article enhancements, over the past couple of years you have created quite a number of women's biographies. We look forward to many more along the same lines. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Helpdesk thread
Hi, did you see Mike Turnbull's answer on your recent Helpdesk thread on how to detect a zero-width space? "In the source editor, with syntax highlighting on (pen icon to the left of "Advanced" in the edit window) the space appears as a red dot. I've included a copy here as an example. [[Heathrow Airport]] only visible in edit mode." TSventon (talk) 12:00, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- It is also worth mentioning (which I only discovered later) that other unusual characters also appear as red dots AND you can hover-over them in the editing window to see the Unicode they correspond to (u200b in the case TSventon added here). Mike Turnbull (talk) 16:54, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- That's very helpful, thank you both. I haven't used syntax highlighting so that's also useful to learn about. Tacyarg (talk) 09:32, 3 July 2021 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi Tacyarg. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. – bradv🍁 01:01, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Andrew Waterman
I understand Twitter isn’t a “reliable” source, but the tweet was from Andrew’s son, who is a friend of mine. Retching Swallows (talk) 03:48, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- If Andrew's son is a friend of yours, that makes you editing his page a [WP:COI], which makes it worse that you are adding info that does not have a reliable source. Caleb M1 (talk) 18:55, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Possible conflict of interest
I have been asked strictly to add updated factual information about Mr. Cunningham 's career (all of which I have proper sources and links for), correct erroneous statements on his page and fix grammatical errors. I fully understand your hesitation in having someone who knows the subject of an article participate in the writing. I have a Masters Degree in Library Science from Simmons University and teach Ethical Information Sources as part of the curriculum at the Charter School I work at. That being the case, I would be very happy to have Mr. Cunningham's updated article reviewed by you prior to it being posted. I wish that what is up currently had been thoroughly vetted. The section on the founding of Open Fist Theatre in Los Angeles (prior to my edit) gave him sole credit for founding the company. Mr. Cunningham was merely one member of the founding company. He does not want or deserve sole credit. Sincerely, LAFurey 136.26.4.238 (talk) 04:38, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
Maniac 2000 edits and ‘citing’
Question, what happens when the truth has never been published and the facts cited are incorrect? This is an example in point with regard to maniac 2000 Wikipedia. I took a legal case for n this with mediation break downs, there is a huge history in this that has been airbrushed. If you can let me know where I can attach this information I can forward on legal documentation which was provided to legal counsel as well as many supporting faxes emails and threats going back 22 years. The point being that the case on Wikipedia shows 20% of the truth as well as gross inaccuracies regarding the providence of this track. There is a request for citing or as what happened to today facts get airbrushed, but the truth was never cited, only lies and gross exaggerations of contributions by mark mccabe 79.97.131.210 (talk) 19:40, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks and About My Article...
Hi Tacyarg. I've noticed that you and user Robert C 571 have really helped my first article Matthew Kenslow. Thank you for helping with the grammar and I wasn't sure about certain sources, which you stated were promotional or youtube. Anyway, are you able to tell me if you can do anything about the issues box now? That is, if the copy editing is now fixed. Also, as I have said, I never claimed to know Kenslow personally. Everything I put can be backed up by credible websites out there and I admit my faults of using websites that don't meet the standards. It doesn't mean I have a "close connection" to the subject. He seemed big enough to be on Wikipedia, so I used those articles, blogs and news stories about him. One final thing, in the infobox, are you able to put a running age next to his birth date? One that will update every July 22nd? I noticed that on other personality Wikipedia articles. Well thanks again and take care!

Cant understand that im doing edting war. Isnt it a common sense that Hanbok is traditional Korean clothes? But he is arguing that hanbok is also a part of Chinese culture with his original research. Im sorry if u thought im doing edting war. I just had to restore the stable version due to WP:NOR policy. persistent vandalism with original research cannot acceptable. User10281129 (talk) 18:40, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
The fact that Hanbok is not a part of Chinese culture was unchangeable. But rather, his arguments that Hanbok is a part of Chinese culture are making cultural dispute between Korea and China. User10281129 (talk) 18:56, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Idk how to say it. But It isn't me who doing edting war. See WP:NOR User10281129 (talk) 18:57, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
I think he is arguing that because of Korean-Chinese. But they are immigrants from Korea. Moreover, they are Chinese, not Korean. User10281129 (talk) 19:04, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
he keep changing content to how he think it should be. For example, he is arguing that Hanbok(traditional Korean clothes) is a part of Chinese culture. Basically his motivation is based on his opinion that immigrant's culture can be a part of Chinese culture. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hanbok#Is_Hanbok_the_traditional_clothes_of_Korean-Chinese_or_not%3F_Is_Hanbok_a_part_of_Chinese_culture%3F) And he makes changes to content that has been around for a long time. I had to restore the stable version several times thanks to his persistent vandalism. I just leave this message to let you know. User10281129 (talk) 11:49, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
Disruptive edits on Hanbok page
Hi Tacyarg,
I just wanted to leave a note on your page to let you know that there is currently a discussion on talk page hanbok due to the continuous disruptive editing and massive removal of content with verifiable sources. It am not sure if the discussion will be fruitful. At the moment that I am sending this note, there have been massive delete of content on the page hanbok, and several attempts to restore content. I am not sure to how to proceed. Gyuligula2 (talk) 10:57, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello
I would like to edit certain details on my page as they are damaging and irrelevant to my career as an actor and my reputation. The information about my father needs to be removed, this has nothing to do with me and could severely jeopardise my career. I have also changed my name to David Tag officially on deed poll and would like this name used throughout my Wikipedia. I don’t want any mention of my old name. Please help me. Thank you so much Regards David Tag 82.22.156.79 (talk) 12:51, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023
Hello Tacyarg,
- Backlog
The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.
- 2022 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!
Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js
to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.
Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Thanks for your reversion just now. In case you didn't pick it up from the other warning notice on the IP talk page, this IP address has been involved in conflict of interest shenanigans at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, where Lilley is the director. This IP is clearly an employee of the sculpture park and their registered accounts have already been blocked for COI and sockpuppetry, so do keep an eye out if you are so inclined. Best wishes and thanks again. 10mmsocket (talk) 09:52, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Popper's three worlds
Hi Tacyarg, after the drastic revert of the expanded entry for "Popper's three worlds", as it stood at the beginning of 2023, to a vastly truncated previous version, I posted a series of points on this revert via my IP talk page (thinking this was the appropriate way to raise those points).
These points made the case that the revert is highly questionable on many grounds, but crucially because it has led to accurate, source-based material in the expanded entry being replaced by inaccurate material without proper sources in the truncated entry - and this seems a paradoxical and questionable result.
There are several posts of varying length on that IP talk page which I would invite you to read, in evaluating whether there may have been any "mistake" in making such a drastic revert. I question whether this revert was an excessive response to lack of sourced references in the expanded entry - especially because this drastic revert means inaccurate material without sources is preferred or promoted over accurate and source-based material in the expanded entry.
Among the many points I ask you to please address is the following specific one. I ask for a rational explanation or justification for removing a sourced and referenced account of Popper's actual views on whether he is offering "an ontology" as set out in the expanded entry ("I am not offering what is sometimes called an "ontology""p.4 'The Self And Its Brain'), for a truncated reverted entry that presents the unsourced and inaccurate claim that Popper is offering some kind ontology because his World 3 objects are a kind of "meta-object" (no source given for this) or "form of being" (no source given for this either). That is, please give a rational justification for the removal, in this specific case, of accurate and sourced and referenced information and replacing it with inaccurate and unsourced and unreferenced information.
My talk posts explain that no less than half the sentences in the last four sections of the reverted entry are inaccurate and/or misleading - that is, 7 out of its meagre 14 sentences. With the reversion throwing out rafts of accurate information in the expanded entry that is clearly incompatible with the inaccurate/misleading material in the reverted entry - and which was put in the expanded entry to correct the kinds of inaccuracy and misleading claims that were in the reverted entry.
It is not just my personal interest but in the general interest of all contributors to understand the basis and rationality of decisions as to the removal of material and its replacement by other material. This is especially so when such changes seem to promote inaccurate information without proper souces over accurate, source-based information.
Kind regards, DM 88.110.55.20 (talk) 11:46, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your message. I've just checked the article history and I don't think I have ever worked on the article or reverted others' edits to it. I asked for advice in early December at the Teahouse about the amount of unsourced material in the article and was directed to the ongoing discussion on the article's Talk page. I posted there at the time and came back to it in early January when I noticed that there had been no attempt to discuss things on your Talk page, so posted a message about unsourced content there at that point. I didn't actually revert your edits though I did mention the possibility of going back to an earlier version of the article on the article's own Talk page. Apologies - this probably wasn't entirely clear. I no longer watch the article as others more expert than me are involved. Tacyarg (talk) 12:17, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Help on Michelle Williams article
Hi Tacyarg, I'm writing to you because you recently edited Michelle Williams (actress). Maybe you can mediate on the following subject: I made some edits last week to include her BAFTA-nominations and was always reverted by Krimuk2.0, who stated that there should be consensus first before doing this additions. Fact is, that the BAFTA-nominations were on the page until 17 June 2022 when Krimuk2.0 deleted it without specifying any reason for doing so. No entry about that in the talk page either. - I engaged in a discussion on the talk-page with Krimuk2.0 which was leading nowhere. Furthermore I witnessed that yesterday some other user whose name I don't know, because it was an IP-address-edit, tried to add BAFTA, but was reverted as well by Krimuk2.0. I have the feeling that Krimuk2.0 is edit-warring, but accuses others of doing so. Well, that's the current state of this affair. I would be very glad if you can help solving this annoying matter. Many thanks in advance. Yqzuvwj (talk) 17:40, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Photo requests in Southampton
Hi! I saw you were a participant in the Hampshire WikiProject. Do you know of any Wikimedians in Southampton, Hampshire who could do photo requests? I've been looking for people to photograph the Marine Accident Investigation Branch headquarters complexes.

- Thank you! Based on what I see on Google Maps, maybe one shot of the overall building and any shots of specific signs indicating government agencies would be great for the MAIB article. I also have photo requests for the previous buildings that MAIB occupied (Mountbatten House and Carlton House). WhisperToMe (talk) 22:11, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
I recently added an item about Barbara Marumoto
To which you responded:
Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Barbara Marumoto, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 00:11, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea how much more of a reliable source one can be than to have worked side by side with the subject for several years. I'm supposed to show a pay stub for her, is that it?
Never mind. Her entry will just have to be incomplete. 2603:800C:700:3016:5A18:8D05:6DF8:B74C (talk) 05:22, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Maureen Jennings entry
Hello! thanks for your notes & guidance. I left a longer note and I'm not sure where it is now. The biographical detail that Jennings was a psychotherapist with Therafields, and not in private practice is on the record. Education, training, affiliation & practice are all standard details in encyclopedia entries. Do you advise differently? I can revise the citation format for the documents noting that affiliation.

Removal of entry about HIV/AIDS in United Kingdom
- Hi Tacyarg, Thank you for taking the time to review my updates to the history of HIV activism in the UK. One of the entries I included was about HIV activism initiated by the sex worker community, which drove hundreds of thousands of people to learn about the HIV prevention medication "PrEP." I would like to clarify that the link that was removed from the entry contained no adult content, nor was it embedded on the site. It is a non-profit organization that aims to educate and provide information about sex through visual transparency as an engagement mechanism. Companies like Virgin Media have reviewed the site and deemed it not to be an adult site for default access limiting. The site had a couple of links to where explicit edits of movies could be visited, but they were clearly warned, and the site had its own warnings and enabled parental controls that engaged before exposure to any adult content. Over 20 members of the community volunteered to create the work, and it engaged hundreds of thousands of different viewers, bringing medical experts (talking to the camera) into the lives of those browsing adult material and signposting them to links to PrEP campaigns. This became an underground pathway for finding access while the UK's NHS was still withholding PrEP provision. At this time, PrEP activism was receiving limited educational main media traction, so this support was a critical moment in the story of HIV in the UK. Sex workers are a population that benefits from PrEP access but can feel "experimented on" when externally encouraged to consider tools like PrEP because of the stigma they face. The secondary effect of including this history in the entry goes beyond avoiding discrimination towards the charitable efforts from this demographic. Showing the community how hard they fought for PrEP access themselves, supports their ongoing comfort with uptake contributing to combatting new HIV rates in a vulnerable community. If you need any further information, I am happy to provide it to support the history's inclusion. Thank you.

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023
Hello Tacyarg,
Backlog
Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.
Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.
Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.
You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.
Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Hi tacyarg. You left me a message regarding updates to this page - I am the subject of the page and wanted to add a little more info. There is also a page about me in the Esperanto version of Wikipedia, with a different set of facts about me. I am trying to augment both so that it is clear that the articles refer to the same person, albeit in different contexts. NyotaMajani (talk) 22:25, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
