Battle of Gochouri 1623, a battle between Odisha Chief Levan II Dadian and Imereti King Giorgi III. Dissatisfied with the strengthening of Levan II Dadiani, King George III of Imereti prepared for a campaign against Odisha in 1623. Levan II Dadian, who was accompanied by an army of Abkhazians and Gypsies, joined Giorgi III, invaded Imereti and brutally defeated the king near Gochoura (near Kutaisi). After the battle of Gochouri, the political superiority of Levan II Dadian in western Georgia became obvious.
