No Highs is the eleventh studio album by Canadian musician Tim Hecker. It was released on April 7, 2022 under Kranky.

Background and recording

[edit]

After recording his previous albums Konoyo and Anoyo, Tim Hecker recorded several soundtracks for television and film, including the miniseries The North Water and the horror film Infinity Pool.

In a press release, Hecker described the album as a 'beacon of unease against the deluge of false positive corporate ambient currently in vogue'.[9][10]

The album features contributions from saxophonist Colin Stetson.

Critical reception

[edit]

No Highs was met with generally favorable reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 77, based on 11 reviews.[11]
