Emily Austin (born May 24, 2001) is an American journalist, social media influencer, model, actress, and independent NBA broadcaster.[1]

Early life

Born on May 24, 2001, in the US to Israeli parents,[1] she grew up on Long Island[2][3] and studied at Hofstra University.[3][4][5]

Career

Sports

Originally planning to study medicine,[6] Austin began interviewing athletes on Instagram during the COVID pandemic on a show she started called "Daily Vibes with Emily Austin".[3][7][8] This led her to working at MTV on Music Lives On. She also worked for Sports Illustrated as a host at NFL and boxing events.[5][7]

In 2023, she started an NBA Podcast called The Hoop Chat w/ Emily Austin where she features NBA players on her show[9][10][7] such as Josh Giddey,[11] Grant Williams,[12] Mitchell Robinson,[13] Immanuel Quickley,[14] Jalen Brunson and Chet Holmgren.

Other work

Austin was a judge at the Miss Universe 2022.[4][5] Austin is an ambassador for Puma[7] and joined the Israeli mission to the UN where she handles English communications and public relations.[1][15] She has written for sites such as Newsweek.[16] Austin is a sought after speaker at events and conferences.[8][15][17]
