Qiu Qiyuan (born 24 May 2007) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. She is the 2023 World champion on uneven bars and the asian champion in the team, all around and uneven bars events. Qiu made her senior international debut at the 2023 Doha World Cup.[1] She quickly became the 2023 Chinese National Champion in the all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam events. In June, she was chosen for the Chinese Asian Gymnastics Championships team along with Zhang Qingying, Zhang Xinyi, Zuo Tong, and Jia Ruoyi. She won the all around gold with a score of 54.932.[2] Later, she was selected to compete in Antwerp for the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The Chinese team consisted of Ou Yushan, Zhang Qingying, Zhou Yaqin, and Huang Zhuofan, with Wu Ran as the alternate. She qualified into the individual all around and uneven bar finals, as well as the team final. Team China finished 4th in the team final behind the United States, Brazil, and France. Qiu also finished 4th in the individual all around final behind Simone Biles, Rebeca Andrade, and Shilese Jones.[3] This marked the highest all around finish for a Chinese female gymnast in a World or Olympic final since Tang Xijing, who placed 2nd at the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. In the bars competition, she was crowned world champion with a score of 15.100, slightly edging out Kaylia Nemour of Algeria, who finished 2nd with a score of 15.033.[4]
