Linda Meek and Gary B

Maxx was a German/Swedish Eurodance act who had major, albeit brief, international success in 1994.

After having already recorded a German cover version of Snow's Informer, rapper Boris Köhler teamed up with O-Jay of Real McCoy to produce Get-A-Way. Boris, under the stage-name of Gary B, performed the ragamuffin rap and a female singer called Samira laid down the vocals for the chorus. It was a huge dancefloor hit all over Europe, peaking at #4 in the UK singles chart in June 1994. By this time, Samira had already left the act and was replaced by Linda Meek. Fortunately, as she had a similar sounding voice and was perfectly capable of performing live, nobody noticed the difference.

More similar sounding hits No More (I Can't Stand It) and You Can Get It followed, as well as an album To The Maxximum, but their success was short-lived. I Can Make You Feel Like was a flop, and a 1995 solo re-launch with just Boris did even worse. The act has not been heard of since.
