The stupidest disambiguation note on all of Wikipedia

Wikipedia is not written for the benefit of some hypothetical brain-damaged moron. These hatnotes should only be used when the ambiguity exists for a significant portion of the readership. I must agree with the IP here. It seems too improbable to warrant a hatnote on either article. Otherwise, we'd end up with dab hatnotes on every page that has similar spelling and rhymes with something else (Salt and malt, for instance). Anarchyte (talk) 08:30, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's not about mistaking the countries; it's about spelling errors or keyboard slips. It's always better to have these disambig notices and I'm happy to see that this article has been protected. Personally I see no reason for the hatnote and would be happy for its removal. Protecting against spelling mistakes is not really the purpose of these notes.Maungapohatu (talk) 18:14, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw that Lublin also links to Dublin (but not vice versa). This one is slightly more reasonable, but still probably not necessary because it's not causing the confusion noted by WP:HATCONFUSE. Same reason we don't have a hatnote on London linking to Dondon or Mondon, and no direct link from Dunedin to Edinburgh, or from Leinster to Leicester. Adding Ethiopian Airlines

Add Ethiopian Airlines destinations
