The Bricklayers(French: Les Maçons) is a 1905 short silent film by Alice Guy.

Synopsis

Two policemen pass near a scaffolding on which bricklayers are working. The workers pour plaster on the patrolmen. Was it deliberate or an accident? A reprimand follows but the police are forgiving and let it go. They continue to go about their business but the bricklayers return to the hoopla. A chase and jostling on the scaffolding ensues.

Analysis

Alice Guy films a troop of comical acrobats, inspired by the Cambrioleurs Modernes or modern burglar films produced by Pathe Freres in the early 1900's.
