Notability of The Puppetmastaz

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Puppetmastaz, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Puppetmastaz seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Puppetmastaz, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I deleted the article because this was the entire content of it: "The Puppetmastaz is a german hiphop band famous for the interpretation of songs by puppets." There was nothing written to indicate any notability, so it qualified for speedy deletion on criteria A7 as lacking such. You mention a French newspaper that argued for their notability. If you recreate this article, please link to this. Explain why this band is notable. If they are signed to a record label, mention that. Basically, a note that the band exists is not enough. The article needs an example of how this group is notable based on what reliable sources are saying about it. Thanks. Resolute 15:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I did not nominate the article for speedy deletion, I just carried out the request. As you can see above, a warning about the speedy deletion notice was left on your talk page regarding this article, explaining what concern the nominator had, and included a notice that the article may already be deleted before you see it again. This is all part of standard procedure. Fortunately, very little on Wikipedia is permanent. If you wish to recreate the article, including an explanation of how this band is notable, it will stand a much greater chance of remaining. Thanks, Resolute 14:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Donvinzk! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Adrian Smith (illustrator) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 17:06, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
