The band was formed in 2006 with the vocalist Daigo and guitarist Shinpei, Akihide later joining with them. On the same year, they've made major debut with the release of the self-titled full-length album Breakzerz, released under Zain Records.[3] The album did fail to chart on the Oricon Weekly charts.
In 2008, their third studio album Big Bang managed to chart on the Oricon Weekly Charts. It became their first original album to debut in Top 10 and generally in Oricon Charts. In 2009, their fifth single, Everlasting Luv became their first single to be used as a theme song to the anime television series Case Closed.[4][5] The single debut at number 2 on the Oricon Weekly Charts. At the same time it became their first single to debut into Top 5 and Top 3 as well. On the same year, they've held their first concert hole-tour and held their first live concert on the Budokan arena.[6]
In 2012, Shinpei has established his own rock band Muscle Attack, himself being a main vocalist of the band.[7] In 2013, Akihide had launched his solo career.[8] In 2015, their 16th single Yaiba became their first non-Case Closed theme song for the anime, instead it served as an opening theme to the anime television series Cardfight!! Vanguard G.[9] In 2017, they've successfully commemorated their 10th debut anniversary. For the commemorate promotion, they've released special collaboration album X (Cross), in which they've collaborated with various artist, including Mai Kuraki, Jiro from Glay and Sho Kiryuin from Golden Bomber.[10][11] On 30 April 2019, on the last Heisei era day, they've released digital single Atarashii Sekai He Atarashii Jidai He: Reiwa version.[12][13]
In 2021, in their seventh album With you, the singer-songwriter Mai Kuraki was involved with the recording as a guest vocalist for the first time in 4 years.[14][15] In 2022, they've successfully commemorated their 15th debut anniversary.
