Marco Marchionni (born 22 July 1980 in Monterotondo, Province of Rome) is an Italian football right-winger, who currently plays for Juventus F.C..

Football career

He began his professional career with Empoli F.C. in 1998, joined form CND team Monterotondo, only to leave the team for Parma in 2001. He played little for two years, and was loaned to Italian club Piacenza for half a season in 2002-2003, in order to get more playing time and increase his skills. His performances were convincing that he was recalled back to Parma and placed in the first team for season 2003-2004.

In 2003-2004, under Cesare Prandelli, who was renowned for his affinity for young players, Marchionni blossomed under his guidance. That season has became a revelation in Marchionni's career with 35 games played and 6 goals scored in Serie A and UEFA Cup. He also make his debut for Italian national team on 12 November 2003 in a friendly against Poland.

The following season was also a positive one, with 32 games played and 6 goals scored. The 2005-2006 season was by far Marchionni's best, he gives great contribution to the team's gameplay, including many assists and many instances of "play-making". He finished the season with 31 appearances and 4 goals. His talent and relatively young age attracted the keen eyes of the Juventus scouts, and the team did not delay in signing him from Parma. Marchionni joined his new team on free transfer in June 2006.[1]

In 2006-2007, Marchionni are playing with Juventus in Serie B due to Juventus involvement in 2006 Serie A scandal. However, despite playing in Serie B, he receives another call-up to Italian national team in September 2006, where he won his 3rd cap.
