Timothy Bigelow Lawrence (He went by "Bigelow" or "T. Bigelow Lawrence") was an Attaché to England in the 1850s and Consul General to Florence, Italy in the 1860s.[1] He is best known as the husband of his first wife, Sallie Ward, and husband of his second wife, Elizabeth Chapman Lawrence.[2] The money inherited by Elizabeth upon Bigelow's death helped fund her nephew Henry Chapman Mercer to build Mercer Museum and Fonthill in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
