Personal views.

hello @Ianmacm I noticed that you reverted my recent addition about her personal views in the Personal life section. If we look at the article like Gal Gadot her views on these matters are mentioned. Also article like Mahsa Amini, there is mention of celebrities reactions etc. It also holds WP:Relevance. 182.183.53.207 (talk) 12:24, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re this edit: I was worried about it having issues with WP:NOTNEWS, WP:RECENTISM and WP:DUE. It probably isn't the most notable thing that she has ever done, and nor will it be in ten years' time. Actors often sign letters supporting one cause or another, but this doesn't have to be mentioned.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 13:24, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ianmacm there are already mention of "In August 2014, she was one of 200 public figures who signed a letter to The Guardian opposing Scottish independence in the run-up to the September 2014" as well as "signed an open letter in November 2020 condemning violence and discrimination against trans women".
Hence a brief mention about "signed a letter condemning Barrera's dismissal for her support for Palestine" is necessary and WP:Notable. 182.183.58.243 (talk) 17:28, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if the Scottish independence mention passes WP:10YT either. Olivia Colman is primarily known as an actress, not for what she has said on a range of political issues. It's not like Vanessa Redgrave where her political campaigning has achieved some notability.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 17:47, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree about WP:10YT. It's not particularly notable that Colman signed this letter, rather the fact that she was among 1300 actors and artists who all did so. It's the overall scale of the action that is significant, not the individual personalities. Having said that, if these kinds of events give an insight into a person's political views they can sometimes be informative. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:37, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ianmacm, we need your input again. Considering we have included about her sign letters for support of Trans despite not being a prominent endoresement, so for the sake of consistency, the issue about the war deserved a brief mention since it is more WP:Due.
Or maybe a Views section might suffice. 182.183.58.243 (talk) 15:42, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm 50-50 on including any of her views on political issues unless they have received significant media coverage and are likely to have long term notability.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 16:40, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well it does has been covered by by The Jewish Chronicle[1], The Independent[2], Middle East Monitor[3], The Messenger[4], Times of India[5], Arab News[6], Mirror[7], Screen Rant[8], as well as The Gaurdian[9]
When so many WP:RS sources tell about it, we have to include it.
@Ianmacm, @Martinevans123... Guys?? 182.183.58.243 (talk) 21:37, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
