Sidney Stephen (1797 – 13 January 1858) was acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.[1][2]

Early life

Sidney was born at Somerleage, Somerset in England and studied at Honiton, Charter-house, and Lincoln's Inn.[3]

Australia

Sidney, whose family tree contained multiple lawyers and judges, worked as a solicitor in Melbourne.[4]
