Emily Austin (born 2001 or 2002) is an American journalist, social media influencer, model, actress, and independent NBA broadcaster.[1]
Early life
Born 2001 or 2002 in the United States to Israeli parents,[1] she grew up on Long Island, NY.[2][3] She went to Hofstra University, NY to study journalism.[3][4][5] She has been visiting Israel since her growing years, and follows Jewish traditions such as Kosher and Sabbath.[3][4]
Career
Sports journalism
Originally planning to study medicine,[citation needed] Austin began interviewing athletes on Instagram during the COVID-19 pandemic on a show she started called Daily Vibes with Emily Austin.[3][6][7] This led her to working at MTV on Music Lives On. She also worked for Sports Illustrated as a host at NFL and boxing events.[5][6]
In 2023, Austin started an NBA podcast called The Hoop Chat w/ Emily Austin which features NBA players[8][9][6] such as Josh Giddey,[10] Grant Williams,[11] Mitchell Robinson,[citation needed] Immanuel Quickley,[citation needed] Jalen Brunson[7] and Chet Holmgren.[4]
Other work
Austin was a judge at the Miss Universe 2022.[4][5] She joined the Israeli mission to the UN where she handles English communications and public relations.[1][12] Austin has written for publications such as Newsweek.[13] She has appeared several times as a panelist on the Fox News program Gutfeld!.
