The 20646/20645 Mangaluru Central - Madgaon Vande Bharat Express is India's 41st Vande Bharat Express train, connecting the industrial port city of Mangalore in western Karnataka with Madgaon, a capital city in the state of Goa.[1][2][3][4]

As per Indian Railways' latest news, this express train will perform the trial runs on 26 December 2023 starting from Mangalore Central around 08:30hrs and will reach Madgaon Junction around 13:45hrs. It will depart from Madgaon at 18:10hrs and will reach Mangalore Central at 22:45hrs.[5]

This express train was inaugurated on 30 December 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing from Ayodhya Dham Junction. [6][7][8]

Overview

This train is operated by Indian Railways, connecting Mangaluru Ctrl, Udupi, Karwar and Madgaon Jn. It is currently operated with train numbers 20646/20645 on 6 days a week basis.[9][10]

Rakes

It is the thirty-ninth 2nd Generation and twenty-fifth Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative.[11]

The 20646/20645 Mangaluru Central - Madgaon Vande Bharat Express has currently 7 AC Chair Car and 1 Executive Chair Car coaches. The coaches in Aqua color indicate AC Chair Cars and the coaches in Pink color indicate AC Executive Chair Cars.
