History

This is the second usage of the SD 27 identifier.

In 1926, the first SD 27 was designated in the southeast part of the state. It ran from Olivet south to near Tabor. This road became part of South Dakota Highway 35 in 1936, and is currently the southern segment of South Dakota Highway 25.

The current alignment was designated in 1926. It previously was the northern end of SD 25, which was rerouted further east.

List of Counties

South Dakota 27 travels across Marshall and Clark Counties.

The route of SD 27 is defined in South Dakota Codified Laws § 31-4-150.[1]
