Spider Monkey are a Thrash metal band formed in California in 1982 by singer Joey Billy, guitarists Paul Friedman and Matt Peterson, bassist Steve Dell and drummer Andy Strickland.

The Disgusting were a heavy metal band formed in 1994 after the breakup of thrash metal band Spider Monkey. The band incorporated elements of metal, funk, and alternative rock. Releasing two albums in the early 1990s on Metal Sharp Records. The band included musicians from Spider Monkey minus singer Joey Billy who left the music business to go to college. The Disgusting disbanded in 1998.
