Milwaukie High School is a public high school located in Milwaukie, Oregon. It is a part of the North Clackamas School District along with Rex Putnam High School and Clackamas High School. The school colors are maroon and gold. The current mascot is the Mustang. The original school mascot was the Maroons, but this was changed after rival schools began to label Milwaukie High students as the "morons." The student body voted on a new mascot and ultimately the Mustang was choosen.

The school newspaper is called the Milwaukian and recently it has been the subject of attention on the campus. In 2006 the "Milwaukian" was given the honor of being named the top high school newspaper in the nation, and the school received a large amount of media attention. In that academic school year the student publication was also awarded the Quill and Scroll International First Place Award, for newspaper excellence. Other media outlets offered for students at the high school are the student yearbook, "The Maroon", and through video medias in a program known as Pulse Media.

Every year since 1996 the school has held its annual Living History Day in November right around Veterans Day.

The school chant is:

"Mustang born, mustang bred,
Gonna be a mustang till I'm dead!"

The school's fight song is:

Onward victorious,
Fight on Milwaukie High;
For victory so glorious,
We'll shout our battle cry.
RAH! RAH! RAH!
Hail to our Mustangs bold,
Their fame will never die;
So onward Maroon and Gold,
For the Glory of Milwaukie High.

Living History Day

On the day before Living History Day, students decorate the entire school with patriotic remembrances of the time periods of prior American wars. On Living History Day itself, thousands of veterans are welcomed into the school. The Goldstar Assembly is also held on this day, in the auditorium to honor Milwaukie High School students who died in past wars. A candle is lit for every student who was killed, and one by one each candle is extinguished. During Living History Day, veterans relate their wartime experiences to the students and staff. Students learn first-hand, and the veterans get an opportunity to share their stories. At the end of Living History Day, The Staff performs a mock USO style show. As the Veterans enter the Gymnasium the students and staff of Milwaukie High School stand and applaud the veterans for their service to the United States.
