Date of "Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream"

[edit]

The article lists this:

1976: "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" (Bear Family Records) Germany

But in the Song book "Rise Up Singing," ( ISBN 0-9626704-9-9 ) which has an introduction by Pete Seeger, McCurdy's friend, page 161 shows the song's Copyright as TRO 1950.

The date of 1950 for that song is corroborated by this info at this link

TRO-©1950,1951 & 1955 Almanac Music, Inc. New York, N.Y. Copyrights renewed

Does anyone know the exact date the song was written? If so, please put that into the article. Thanks.

Also, Johnny Cash's cover of "Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream" may have been released in 2010, but it would have been rather difficult for him to actually cover it in 2010, given that he died in 2003.98.223.162.75 (talk) 14:55, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More Dates

[edit]

McCurdy's Dalliance series were not really "Elizabethan"; they consisted of songs from Thomas D'Urfey's Wit and Mirth, or Pills to Purge Melancholy (published 1698-1720). Elizabeth I died in 1603. 98.223.162.75 (talk) 15:06, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream

[edit]

Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream should have its own article. It's very famous in Sweden. J 1982 (talk) 20:16, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
