The 2009 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season was the ninth running of the Grand Am Cup Series. It began on January 22 and ran for ten rounds. Despite intense competition, two teams dominated the season: Doran Racing in the Grand Sport (GS) class and Turner Motorsport in the Street Tuner (ST) class. Doran Racing’s Paul Edwards and Dion von Moltke secured the GS championship with four wins, while Turner Motorsport’s Bill Auberlen and Joey Hand clinched the ST title with five victories. This marked the first time a single team had won both championships in the same year.
