Plies (born Algernod Lanier WashingtonCite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page).) is an American rapper from Fort Myers, Florida, best known when his entourage opened fire at a nightclub in Gainesville, Florida.
Plies is signed to Slip-N-Slide Records and was the creator of the song I Wanna Fuck You (also called "I Wanna Love You"), which is a hit song for singer Akon and rapper Snoop Dogg. The two removed Plies' verses after he was arrested.
Plies was arrested on July 2, 2006 for illegal gun possession while two members of his entourage were charged with attempted murder after a shooting broke out at 238 West Nightclub in Gainesville. Plies was performing a concert when he was informed that his show would be cut 15 minutes short in order to give time to Lil' Boosie to perform right after. In response, Plies' entourage started to fire at the crowd, resulting in the injury of 5 people with non-life threatening wounds. Shortly after, Plies was released after paying $50,000 bail, while the members of his "so called" entourage remain behind bars and all were eligible for bond at the same time as Plies, while he and his brother were the only two released. Thus he could continue to promote the song, but it was feared that the incident would give the single bad publicity, and since a version with Snoop Dogg was already circulating unofficially in the mixtape scene, that was chosen. Akon and Snoop Dogg's management also agreed to participate on each other's forthcoming albums.
"I Wanna Love You" achieved unexpected sudden success, reaching the 17th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 without a promotional video or physical CD release, and then topping the chart for two consecutive weeks.

There are also rumors that he was punched out in a night club in West Palm Beach after some sort of altercation. Plies has already shot the video for his single "Got Em Hatin". Plies Has also released another single entitled "aint comin home". The Song Is gaining airplay slowly. [citation needed]
