Romeo "Romy" Vitug (January 27, 1937 – January 18, 2024) was a Filipino photojournalist and cinematographer. The son of Honesto Vitug, the Dean of Philippine Photojournalism, he began his career as a photojournalist and a newsreel cameraman before he became a cinematographer for films and television.[1] He had worked with directors including Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Joel Lamangan, Olivia Lamasan, Rory Quintos, Emmanuel Borlaza, Lino Brocka, and Mario O'Hara.

Death

Just 9 days before his 87th birthday, Vitug died on January 18, 2024, 06:11 (Philippine Standard Time, 22:11 UTC), at the age of 86.[2] The news of his passing was announced by his daughter, Dana Vitug Taylor.
