Chithrakkoodakkallu, known also as Chithrakoodam, Nagakkallu, Sarppakkallu refers to The house for snakes or The abode of snakes which are worshiped as deities in Kerala. From the ancient time, it constructs with laterites according to Vastu shastra. Nowadays, granites are also widely used for the construction of Chithrakkoodakkallu, instead of laterite. These kind of snake related deity constructions can be seen at sarpa kavus of some ancient, traditional hindu families and rare temples all over Kerala.[1][2][3]
