Chris Foss

[edit]

I haven't seen any of the new books but I have all four "classic series" books and I don't think any of them has any art by Chris Foss. Paul Tergeist 20:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Based on a quick scan through most of the art, I can't find any of his pieces (I didn't look at every pic, but enough that he's unlikely to be there, given that most of the artists have several pics in those books). I also looked at the only Galactic Encounters book I have, Aliens in Space.

Chris Foss is probably included in the list so often because he has a similar style to Elson, McKie, et al., and because there is a Chris (Chris Moore), so people conflate the two and get the impression that his stuff is there.

It's also possible that people who own these books also own other books collecting similar/the same art, such as Flights of Icarus (ISBN 0905895169), which does include some of Foss's work, along with several paintings that did appear in the TTA books.

(The other one I find that people usually include and then are surprised by is Peter Elson, as he didn't have any images in the first book. He did in the latter three, however.) -- Gregordyne 18:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have it direct from both Chris Foss, and Stewart Cowley, that no Foss artwork appears in the 4 classic volumes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aemann (talkcontribs) 23:42, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ISBNs

[edit]

If you are wondering, I did the ISBN links the way I did for the Morrigan books (i.e., using a piped "Special:Booksource" link instead of just putting the ISBN number in the text) in order to match the style used for the classic TTA and Galactic Encounters book sections, which often have several ISBNs. Including the numbers directly there could get pretty ugly without adding functionality. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gregordyne (talkcontribs) 19:13, 6 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Neutrality Dispute - what is the problem?

[edit]

Someone has tagged this article for Neutrality problems, but has failed to provide any information on the discussion page.

I'm sure the person who made the edit knows what they think the problem is, but I can't see what it is myself. I'm very tempted to pull the tag, as this appears to be the action of a 'drive by tagger' rather than someone with a genuine interest in the Terran Trade Authority. Big Mac (talk) 00:41, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find any information about the supposed dispute in the history of the page, so I'm pulling the 'POV|date=June 2008' tag from the article. If the original poster of the tag returns to retag this article it would be nice if you could actually put some comments on this discussion page, so that other wiki editors can see what the issue is and (more importantly) try to correct the problem. Driveby tagging is not very helpful to the community. Big Mac (talk) 00:50, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
