GCOTW

[edit]

It's a shame, but I can't really contribute towards the GCOTW that I nominated, I'm in between addresses and still haven't sorted out internet access. I know that Issue 135 of Edge magazine at WP:CVG/M cites Prima Games has pretty much inventing the gameguide industry, but I don't have access to a scanner either right now. It's also interesting to note that Prima Games was an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group alongside with other Prima branded publishing lines until they were dropped a few years ago. Publishing Group Correction

[edit]

Prima Communications, Inc. (Prima Publishing, et. al.), the parent company of Prima Games was purchased by Random House in 2002. Prima Communications had four divisions: Lifestyles (general non-fiction such as cookbooks, self-help titles, and opinion pieces), Health (known for their natural pharmacist series), Games, and Tech (computer and technical publications). Immidiately after the purchase the four divisions were divided. Games and Tech went into the Random House Information Group and Health and Lifestyles went into the Crown Publishing Group. Placed in charge of Prima as a whole at the time was the publisher of the Crown Group. This meant a degree of collaboration and cross-referencing between the Games group and Crown Publishing leading some to the mistaken impression that Prima Games was part of the Crown Group, when in fact, they never were.

As time past after the aquisition, the Health and Lifesytles groups were completely integrated with Crown and no they longer have their own branded identity. The Tech group was sold to another publisher and is now part of Thompson Learning.

Prima Games continues to be part of the Random House Information group, which includes amoung others, the travel book publisher Fodors. This infomation is confirmed on RH's publisher's page[2] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.60.153.70 (talk) 22:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

First paragraph

[edit]

Can someone find a differant way to say this? "They normally feature in-depth walkthroughs to completing the game and the characters." Explaining the character? 'Unlocking the characters', it seems like the sentance isn't complete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:B8FF:B0D0:3C8C:1601:D1F0:7052 (talk) 20:44, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
