Pu Ti Na

Pu Ti Narasimhachar was very good at Bhavageethe and other forms of poetry. He thought of poetry as a path to God. He was not happy with the arbitrary labeling of different poems into genres based on narrow considerations. He considered rasa-svadana as the fundamental goal of all poetry. -- Heavy chariot 19:45, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Kannada Literature

I am working on an article on Kannada Literature in general (offline) - I think we should merge this with Kannada literature once it is complete and redirect "Kannada Poetry" over there; I will do so if no objections are noted in some days. --ashwatha 10:24, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Haiku/Senryu

A comment from someone who followed the "What links here" page from the haiku article: If vachanas are pithy comments, then they would be more like senryu, the humorous counterpart to haiku. It would be very interesting to see an example or two to get a better idea of what they were like. gK 19:41, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

short? I don't get it.

Somewhere, I forget where, there is a Wiki-policy (or maybe it is just a strong recommendation), to not include whole poems in Wikipedia articles. For most short poetry forms, however, it is almost impossible to really understand the form without seeing an example, and I see no problem with including examples of haiku, tanka, etc. within a Wikipedia article. hey gk, I'm finding it difficult to follow what you've been telling and whats happenign around with poetry stuff. I really like to add up stuff, but am finidng it difficult, especially with exams around the corner.
