Requested move

[edit]

Dartford Grammar School for Boys → Dartford Grammar School – Rationale: The name of the school is Dartford Grammar School, not Dartford Grammar School For Boys, as a past student, and someone that has checked in the yellow pages i can confirm this, and would see it as more sensible if the for boys page were to link to the school page, rather than vice versa … DVokes 17:53, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You checked in the Yellow Pages Daniel? Jesus. ...J-O-B. Get one. 88.109.96.19 23:17, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jagger Centre

[edit]

Firstly, the centre was opened by The Duke of Kent, Mick Jagger simply attended and wrote on a wall. He does not finance the centre, merely one of the projects run by the centre. While the Jagger centre and Mick himself may be important, there is a notable alumni section, and buildings section section so I have been bold and moved it all around so that this page is not a tribute to Jagger or the Jagger centre, but a more balanced article. Must we refer to previous students as 'alumni'? I have reverted it to "Famous Students", I know Wikipedia is American in its origins, but I think we should exert some opposition here. 88.111.41.225 11:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A more familiar name to those that went to the school would be "Old Dartfordians". 86.16.208.176 16:10, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Difficult to find an exact source, but I've read it in various reputable magazines. The best link I can find though is here: http://telegraph.co.uk/core/Content/displayPrintable.jhtml?xml=/arts/2003/02/10/bacrook10.xml&site=6 New*allusion, 14:58, 13 June (BST).

History?

[edit]

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools makes much of the idea that in writing a school article one should show how unique a school it is. YET - this one was established in Tudor times and there is no mention of anything except today's school. Why is that? Peter Shearan (talk) 14:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
